Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder where you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.
This is a popular English lullaby. The lyrics are from an early 19th-century English poem, "The Star." Many of us were sung to sleep with this song as children. Perhaps you were.
A lullaby or cradle song is a soothing song or piece of music, usually played for or sung to children. It fosters rest, well-being, comfort and envelopes love.
A star is a luminous sphere of plasma held together by its own gravity.
As an adult, what holds us together? As children we look up at the stars - often wanting to be one - A star in some form.
The Oscar Award-winning documentary film "20 Feet from Stardom" features Grammy Award-winning artist Lisa Fischer.
If one attends any of Lisa's live concerts, you realize and it is clearly evident that she is not only a star, but that she is totally, spiritually at one within her own being. A star within her own galaxy. Her own solar system. Her own orbit. Her vocal ability and connection to a song causes a gravitational pull that the listener cannot escape nor would want to.
You may wonder, how did she get there? To be that perfect?
Ms. Fischer was born with a natural, infinite talent and voice that soars to the heavenly blue skies and to the depths of the oceans. This is not merely something that can be learned at any school, for any amount of money. It can only be developed if you are lucky enough to be born with such a musical gift.
My dear friend, Mike Murphy (Juno winner Jess Moskaluke, Grammy winner Freddy Fender and many, many more) stated "Ms. Lisa Fischer is God's vocal paintbrush."
Indeed, Ms. Fischer is an awakening for our souls. How did Ms. Fischer rise up above the world so high?
First, there is no need to go elsewhere for the truth. But rather, dive more deeply into what you already have.
"But I am not a singer," I can hear you say.
This material is for anyone, no matter your age or field of work. To achieve, one must go beyond any superficial personality traits. There must exist a longing for a deeper connection, freeing you from the minds and influences of others, a discovery and journey into and unto self.
It is your true inner voice of thought that creates the illusion of separateness. It is an inner illusion that you step into, a completely separate "other you" that exists outside of the normal realm, above all the levels of physical appearance. All thought.
Your mind is using you. You don't even know that you are its slave.
Freedom is the realization that you are not the possessing entity-the thinker. Knowing this enables you to observe the entity. You start watching the thinker, moving away from the neophyte to a higher level of consciousness to become activated.
You then begin to realize that there is a vast realm of intelligence far beyond thought. That thought is only a tiny aspect of such intelligence. You also realize that all things that truly matter - love, joy, creativity, inner peace - originate from outside the mind first. You begin to awaken.
Moving from a mind that should we call "soporific" to one that is far more alert, more awake than in the mind-identified state, you become fully present; in the now. It also raises the vibrational frequency (you move from mono to stereo) of the energy field that gives life to the physical body.
As you go more deeply into this realm of "no-mind," as it is sometimes referred to in the Far East, you realize the state of pure consciousness. In that state, you feel your own presence with such intensity and such joy that all thinking, all emotions, your physical body (as well as the whole external world) becomes relatively insignificant in comparison to it.
And yet this is not a selfish but a selfless state. It takes you beyond what you previously thought of as "yourself." That presence is essentially you and at the same time inconceivably, greater than you.
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle little star,
How I wonder.
We should all wonder to become more. Develop more.
Possibly you didn't receive the good fortune to have been sung to as a child. Maybe you feel like you are barely holding it together in your life. Perhaps you were not born with a voice like Ms. Lisa Fischer.
That is not the point.
Develop fully whatever gift you were born with. We all have at least one. In fact, we all have an abundance of unique abilities.
Free yourself from all the outside influenced bondage and reach, not only for your star, but furthermore, for your enigmatic spirit. Claim it. It's yours to do so!
Rest assured, if you are reading this, you likely signed-up to a self-help or inspirational website. This shows that you have been looking for betterment. That you are now reaching, not only for betterment, but a far more meaningful, spiritually connected existence.
In doing so, we are able to change negative emotions into positive ones. Now is the time to be kind, gentle and patient with our selves, as we begin to open our minds to a different and more vigorous way of thinking and being.
You are a bright spot in the universe.
There are many pitfalls in life. No matter if you are a star or not, rise above them!
Shine bright. Like a diamond. Find light. Find your luminous light. Become your own star. You are just steps away! 20 feet from stardom? Your own personal stardom!
