POEM FOR MILES PATRICK YOHNKE

INTRODUCTION

It was between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on January 18, 2022, that I awoke. I'd noticed an email had come in. I don't remember the title of the work Miles had posted in those wee hours of the morning, but in my heart I noted the time. It was 2 a.m. That's hallmark for me in my life's journey, because of the many experiences I've had at that time in the early morning. I thought to myself, Miles must have been up at 1:30 a.m. to have posted his work by 2 a.m. 1:30 a.m. is also significant because of inspiration I received 33 years ago to pen a poem. So, just as I was about to lie back down, something inside of me said: "Duncan, you should get up and write." I heeded that inner voice, got up, and thought of Miles as the words began to flow out of me. Being inspired by Miles' work over the years and the on-the-dot sequences for the work he is doing, I just had to write my heart to my brother Miles. I call Miles a "soul igniter" because I can see our creator's work through him and the creator's work being accomplished. We're pulling together with one another now. It's Our Father's work and we all share in it.

POEM FOR MILES PATRICK YOHNKE

When he was 5 he lost his Dad,

Because of this he was iron clad,

His will that is, to see the light,

Through this anvil of pain,

He much did gain.

A truth of truths to not be bitter,

And not to seek the things that glitter,

But to seek and look at life as it really matters,

Not just platitudes and empty chatter.

But depth and height and length and breadth,

Not what one would call success.

But the key to give and to bless,

Not just with money or time does he this,

With substance of being so you won't miss,

The life in front of you given each day,

With so much to do almost no time to pray.

This is what this one life shows,

And deep down in his gut he really knows,

The cost, the pain, the price to pay,

To help pave for those -

Who are looking a more meaningful way.

This is a brother with many a layer,

He found the key and made his life the prayer.

So with this, I hope it will go the same for me and many others,

The simplicity of this life together through stormy weather,

To live and give and bless with a smile.

Doing it day by day and mile by mile.

P.S. By the way with all this in the tank;

I can run for miles and miles and miles.
