Over sensationalized presentations?

Of violence. Suffering. Exploitation.

Local news, national news, international news.

Terror in the Middle East and African countries,

School shootings, the Oklahoma City bombing.

Ethnic cleansing in Yugoslavia and Kosovo.

The September 11th terror attacks,

Kidnappings and murder of children.

Gory! Gory! Impale Their King!

Glamorized images of weapons and war.

Glory! Glory! Hail Their King?

Hey you, smile for the camera, smile for the camera.

As you kill 26 in a Connecticut Elementary School.

As you kill 13 in the Columbine High School.

As you kill 12 in the Colorado movie theatre.

For a society to grow in a positive direction, acknowledging mistakes from the past must be done. Taking ownership. As difficult as it may be. As an organization that was responsible for at least 70% of the Indigenous residential schools in Canada, one must ask, when will the Roman Catholic Church accept the responsibility for their role in this horrific travesty within our own country? How much longer must our Indigenous Peoples wait? Hasn't it been far too long? Don't they deserve the healing that is needed in order to move forward?
