Cape-Town 2018

Pristine shores transitioning to dappled forests,

With the imposing sight of Table Mountain,

The beauty of the city, unparalleled,

Every taste bud tickled with local food fare,

Named one of the most beautiful cities,

One of the most beautiful cities on our planet,

Time after time.

They used to fetch,

Fetch fountain water,

Up in the mountains,

There, on a secret trail only locals knew,

They took, they took the fluid of life.

They'd duck under this huge gate,

Where there were these high trees,

And the water tasted,

Tasted like life's wine itself.

But, not today.

Not today,

It has dried up,

And gone away.

Bare sand,

Dotted with dried tree trunks,

Standing out,

Standing out at Theewaterskloof Dam.

Heart, gorgeous, this uniqueness,

Unparalleled beauty, untouched nature,

The arts, the night-life and so much more,

Found, found in this Motherly City.

Though now, they're calling it: "Day Zero."

Drought,

Thought provoking,

Standing out,

Standing out at Theewaterskloof Dam,

200 water stations, just 200 water stations,

In the streets, in the streets,

People line up, people line up,

In this city of over 4 million,

Cape-Town, Our dear Cape-Town.

They're calling it: "Day Zero."

O Lord, please help us,

O Lord, please help us,

Please bring our Motherland its needed rain,

Oh, Lord, please bring our Motherland its life preserving gift.

Consumption,

Consumption,

Consumption,

But, not today.

Not anymore?

They're calling it: "Day Zero."

April 16, 2018.

Our Motherland, our Motherland,

This land, we call our permanent "Home on Earth,"

For all generations, and all generations to come.

So that past, present and future generations will survive forever,

Forever united in our tribe's special Community of Life and love.

I hear the sound of the abundance of rain,

Oh, I hear the sound of abundance of rain,

I hear the shouts, the shouts coming from the homes, from the streets,

The cheers, the tears, O Lord, O Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Oh Lord please approve my vision!
